Thomas Mogan farmed Section 42 in Tawa, to the east of the Old Porirua Road. The creek along Redwood Avenue still shows signs of waterfalls, which probably indicate the position of the waterwheel which drove the farm's mill. Millstones which probably came from this mill (since they were found in the nearby hedge) are now in storage at Te Papa.
