Bocking windmill, Essex

Bocking Post Mill: Dating from 1721, the mill was auctioned in December 1829, moved up the hill from near the bakehouse, and re-erected here in 1830. It worked commercially until c1924 and to special order until c1930. The last miller was Henry Hawkins. The mill is owned and maintained by Braintree District Council. {The Friends of Bocking Windmill 1996}.
