Don Quixote

Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (1547-1616), a Spaniard, published his most famous work, that of "Don Quijote de La Mancha" in two parts, part 1 appearing in 1605, and part 2 in 1615.

Much of the story is very visual, and illustrated editions were the norm.
