The Dutch settlement area of
Little Chute, Wisconsin, has firmed up
plans to construct an authentic Dutch windmill in the village. Residents
formed Little Chute Windmill Inc. in mid 2002, and are expecting to award
the $1.2 million contract to Verbij Hoogmade B.V. the Dutch millwrights.
Construction could start in a couple of years, and take 18 months to
complete, on a site on West Main Street near the Public Library and Civic
Center. Around $35,000 of the costs have so far
been raised, with a major fund raiser planned this month.
