The Robertson (replica) windmill at Colonial Williamsburg is continuing the long historical tradition of treating windmills as movable objects, by being relocated about 1/3 mile, moving it from the more urban location it was built in, to the more rural location of the Palace Farms/Great Hopes Plantation. This is actually the second Virginian post mill to be relocated in the past year - the Flowerdew Hundred windmill was moved rather further, relocating to the Wind Power Center in Lubbock.
