DAMAGE BY GALE.-TIMBER FOR MILLS.
A tremendous gale was blowing on Saturday night, and a portion of the fluming of the domestic water supply was damaged. Several fences on the beach were blown down, as well as a large windmill owned by Mr Nicholas, carter, and used to turn a firewood saw.
The fresh brought down 400 kauri logs to the Shortland saw mill booms.
