The UK Government has
announced leases for 3 areas of the seabed off Britain to establish
offshore wind farms. The areas concerned are off the North West, the
Wash, and the Thames estuary. The projects are estimated to create up
to 20,000 jobs, and deliver 5% of the UK energy needs.
