Dereham windmill, cosmetically restored in 1987, is currently looking rather sorry for itself - a combination of storm damage
to its sails, and vandal damage to the structure itself.
There are early plans to restore the mill more completely - back to working order, but these have hit a snag -
noone knows what the sails should look like.
The sails which are on the mill now (the storm damaged ones) are inappropriate - but since the working ones were removed in 1922,
the trustees are appealing to see if anyone has photos of the mill prior to this date. Either let me know if you have, or
contact Geoff Hayton on 01362 694030.
