The film of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang formed a close relationship between the
car and windmills, since Caractacus Potts, Chitty's owner, lived in a windmill, filmed at
Ibstone windmill, Buckinghamshire.
A couple of years ago, Tony Green had an
accurate replicate of Chitty made,
with the official blessing of MGM who own the copyright to the name and likeness. It's not that surprising, given the
windmill association, to see pictures of
the new replica posed
by a windmill - in this case Lytham windmill, Lancashire.
