Photo of Gaulter's Cottage windmill, Preesall 🌍

A few years ago, I wrote that I'd been informed about a small post mill at Gaulter's Cottage, Preesall, but that I had no further info about it. I've just come across a photo of it (taken almost exactly a year ago) from which I can note the following details:

• miniature open trestle post mill
• step mounted 6 bladed fantail (painted red, white and blue)
• 4 common sails

My previous post noted that it showed up on the aerial photos in Google Earth and Microsoft's equivalent (at the time called Live maps - now called Bing maps!) Checking these sources again, they have changed the photos they show - but the images are now dated as 2002 and 2000 - which would suggest that the mill was constructed in the 1990s, since it is shows up even in the 2000 dated photo. (These dates are often approximate).
